Terms & Conditions

By placing a booking with The Positive Pup Ltd you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted our terms and conditions below. Completion of the booking process and acceptance of our terms and conditions forms your contract with The Positive Pup.

Please note that any restrictions dictated by the government with regards to Covid will be adhered to, and supersede our terms and conditions regarding number of attendees per pup.

Cancellations - Courses

If it becomes necessary for you to cancel a course, after you have booked and paid for it but before you have started it, we require 10 working day’s notice prior to the commencement of the course for a refund to be made. Any refund made will be reduced by an administration fee of £15.00. If you start the course and then cancel or fail to turn up, no refund will be made.  You may cancel your purchase within a period of 14 working days beginning the moment you place your order. However, there is no right of cancellation where the course begins within a 10 day period.

If the Positive Pup has to cancel classes due to circumstances beyond their control (such as weather limitations, issues with the venue, environmental issues such as Covid 19 etc), best efforts will be made to ensure that an additional class is added to the end of the course.  This is of course subject to venue availability.  If the venue is not available, then an alternative location will be sought.  Every effort will be made to ensure that the additional class will be held on the same day of the week, and at the same time as the class that had to be cancelled, unfortunately this is not always possible.  If a venue is not available or feasible (due to Covid 19 restrictions) then class will be held virtually.  Unfortunately The Positive Pup is unable to offer a refund if the additional class is organised (whether virtual or face to face) and clients are unable or unwilling to attend.

Cancellations - Packages

Please refer to your contract for these details.

Training Techniques

All training techniques used by The Positive Pup are based on positive reinforcement and as such all techniques and methods used are kind, fair and reward based. We do not allow any form of harsh handling and we use proven kind and effective techniques. Therefore, we do not tolerate any methods that cause pain, fear or intimidation to the dog, nor any aversive devices.

Reactive Dogs

You must not knowingly book a reactive dog onto our courses. If in doubt, please make arrangement for us to assess your dog before booking onto a course. If you have not asked us to assess your dog and then find that your dog is reactive, nervous or aggressiv,e we will be unable to refund your course payment. If we have however assessed your dog and upon attendance find they are not suitable to the class environment, we may offer an alternative solution such as one to one training or an outdoor class etc.

Safety

Any instances of accident or injury must be reported at the time they occur. Please follow instructions at all times and do not use equipment if the trainer is not present. In the unlikely event of a dog on dog altercation please stand back and allow the trainer to deal with the situation.

You are responsible for your dog at all times. Please ensure your dog is kept on a lead unless otherwise instructed to do so and that you keep hold of the lead throughout the class. Please do not allow them to roam freely around the classroom.

Children

Please ensure you and anyone attending with you respect the training space of other clients and their dogs.

Children are welcome to attend training class, with appropriate adult supervision. The Positive Pup accepts no responsibility for children at training classes and it is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure their children’s safety at all times.

Children must not be allowed to disrupt learning and we reserve to right to request a disruptive child does not attend any future classes.

Health and Vaccinations

All dogs and puppies must be suitably vaccinated against potential risk of disease, as well as being treated for internal and external parasites.

There can be no guarantee that there is no risk of disease at any venue or when in contact with other dogs and equipment (such as toys).

It is the owner’s/handler’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fully protected against the risk of disease. The decision not to do this is made entirely at your own risk.

Please advise in advance of any session if your dog has been unwell or if they have been in contact with another dog infected with a contagious disease. Depending on the issue, it may be advisable for the session to be cancelled and re-arranged or the class missed. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy for class.

If your dog has any known allergies or intolerances to certain foods please make us aware before the start of the training session and provide appropriate, alternative treats for training.

Bitches in season should not be brought to training classes as other dogs will struggle to concentrate and the bitch will feel very vulnerable.
